CLEVELAND — A spokesperson for the FBI said the FBI, the Violent Crimes Task Force and the Evidence Response Team launched an investigation Tuesday around 10 a.m.

They responded to an unoccupied building along Mt. Carmel Road on Cleveland’s east side after receiving a tip.

FOX 8’s Dave Nethers was at the scene and said the details of the tip were not being released.

The FBI said bones were discovered but a preliminary examination by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office determined they were not human.

Investigators continued to remove items from the building for a time before calling off a search.

The FBI would not comment further on what they described as an ongoing investigation.
