Indians Beat Cubs, 7-2

The Indians won another game in the sunny Arizona Cactus League, beating the Cubs 7-2 in Mesa. With the win, Cleveland pushed its mark to 8-1.

Carlos Carrasco started and gave up two runs in his 3 innings. Mike Aviles staked the Indians to a 2-0 lead with a two-run homer.

Though the Cubs tied it at 2-2 against Carrasco, he got the win because the offense took the lead in the top of the 3rd. Yan Gomes doubled in the go-ahead run to give the Tribe a 3-2 lead.

Corey Kluber went 3 innings and pitched scoreless ball. He struck out 5 batters. Vinnie Pestano, Blake Wood and Bryan Price each went an inning and did not allow a run.

The Indians led 4-2, but made everyone breathe easier when they scored 3 runs in the 9th to make it a 7-2 final.

Cleveland visits the San Diego Padres on Saturday.
