CLEVELAND — Better buy some batteries.

It’s time to change the clocks and check the smoke detectors.

Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday at 2 a.m.

We shift the clocks one hour forward to take advantage of the available daylight hours.

It’s also the time of year you’re encouraged to check the smoke detectors and change the batteries.

It’s a good idea to make sure elderly family members, neighbors and friends have working smoke detectors, as it may be more challenging for them to maintain their devices.
