Cavs Lose to Grizzlies, 110-96
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Thanks to a big third quarter by Memphis, the Grizzlies were able to crawl back into the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night.
Memphis outscored Cleveland 33-15 to take a 75-73 lead, and kept the lead to win the game 110-96.
Cleveland was in control of the game early on; Spencer Hawes, the Cavs’ newest addition, was 3-3 from long distance in the first half and had 11 points. Tristan Thompson had 14 points in the first half, and Kyrie Irving threw in 13.
The Cavs shot 61 percent in the first half from the field and 44 percent from behind the arch. Cleveland was looking to win its third straight game, and Memphis was looking for its fifth-straight home win.
The Cavs return home to host the San Antonio Spurs Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena.
