Canter Ohio is a volunteer group that works with racing trainers and owners to help them find non-race homes for their retiring racehorses. There are no fees for the new owners.

The organization also includes owner relinquished horse adoption programs. According to their website, Canter assumes ownership of the horse and all associated expenses.

Caring for a horse is expensive. The organization is holding a "Night at the Races" fundraiser on Saturday, March 8th. Click here for information.
