VERMILION, Oh – The Vermilion River level remained high Sunday morning.

The Vermilion Police Department along with fire crews were monitoring the situation all night long, and said it has not changed much. They said cooler temperatures overnight did manage to help with preventing further flooding.

Water has now made it over the top of the sea wall at McGarvey’s Landing in Vermilion, according to Erie County Officials. Riverside Drive in Vermilion also remains closed.

Officials in Willoughby continue to monitor the Chagrin River, and said it is receding. On Saturday the river level was at 13′ but had gone down to 11′ by Sunday morning.

All roads in Willoughby have reopened.
