AKRON — Authorities are investigating a one-car crash that killed an Akron woman Friday morning.

Around 10:00 a.m., authorities say Carla Mitchell, 28, was driving a 2000 Dodge Neon north on Aqueduct Street at a high rate of speed. She lost control of the vehicle and drove off the right side of the road, hitting a tree.

Mitchell was taken to Akron General Medical Center where she died from her injuries.
