Kyrie Irving Eliminated in 3-Point Shoot-Out Contest

NEW ORLEANS —Kyrie Irving will not repeat as three-point shoot-out champion after being eliminated on Saturday night in the first round of competition during All-Star weekend festivities in New Orleans.

Irving was one of eight players participating in the shootout: four players were from the East and four players were from the West.

Irving managed to score just 17 points in the opening round and was eliminated.

Bradley Beal, of the Washington Wizards, scored 21 points. Marco Belinelli, of the San Antonio Spurs, scored 19 points, and went on to win.

Irving was looking to become the first player to win back-to-back shootouts since 2008.
