In February, we dedicate an entire month to those men and women who worked for civil rights and equality.

Those individuals and events continue to inspire us today.

We at Fox 8 News wanted to know what Black History Month means on a personal level.

For the 2014 ‘Portraits in Black History’ series, we talked to celebrities, athletes and entertainers to find out how their lives have been impacted, and what they’re doing to continue the legacy.
