Scene after Schoberts were found killed

COVENTRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio– An 18-year-old, whose parents were murdered in New Franklin last March, has now been arrested on drug charges.

Chelsea Schobert was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon on charges of drug possession and drug trafficking.

Her arrest comes a day after police were called to her apartment complex due to shots being fired.

Summit County Sheriff’s officials were looking for Schobert since Monday evening.

Bill Holland, a spokesman with the sheriff’s office, says a resident at the Newport Landings Apartments in Coventry Township called 911 around 5 Monday evening saying they heard an explosion and thought a bullet entered their apartment.

Detectives determined the bullet came from Schobert’s apartment. She had been seen running from the apartment shortly after the shooting.

Crack cocaine, evidence of drug trafficking, and a gun, were found inside her apartment, sheriff officials say.

Schobert’s parents, Margaret and Jeff, were found murdered in their New Franklin home last year.

Schobert’s boyfriend, Shawn Eric Ford Jr., has been arrested and charged with their murders.
