The Better Business Bureau has issued a national alert regarding a new credit card scam.

The BBB is urging everyone to check their credit and debit cards for an unexplained charge of $9.84.

Officials say thieves think they can get away with charging thousands of cards smaller amounts, instead of trying to steal larger amounts.

The BBB also said thieves believe credit card companies won’t go after a small amount.

If you find small, unexplained charges of your card, you are urged to report it and get a new card.
