Late Cleveland Officer Found in Home ID’ed

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Cleveland patrol officer was found dead inside his home Sunday, and it appears he died of natural causes.

According to Cleveland police, the 56-year-old officer had served with the division for over 20 years.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him Monday as Leonard T. Moore.

Fourth District officers were called to Moore’s home at about noon Sunday. Upon arrival, it was discovered he was an officer in the Third District.

Police say it appears he died of natural causes. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office will determine the final cause of death.
