Police Investigating Shooting Deaths at Hospital

CLEVELAND — Two people are dead following two incidents at MetroHealth Medical Center on Thursday.

According to Cleveland police, officers responded to a woman with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head inside MetroHealth Medical Center at approximately 4:40 p.m. Police say she was placed on life support and died early Friday morning.

She was identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office as Terry Johnson, 58, of Berea.

At 11:30 p.m., MetroHealth Medical Center security discovered a man with a fatal gunshot wound in the passenger seat of a white Kia in the hospital parking lot.  He was identified Friday as Donald Johnson, 61, of Berea.

A preliminary investigation reveals the woman was an out-patient at MetroHealth Medical Center.  She is also believed to be Johnson’s wife.

The Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit, along with the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office, is investigating the death.
