Trending Baby Names of 2014

It’s a new year and that means new baby names are trending for 2014.

Name Candy, a website dedicated to tracking baby names, compiled a list of the first names reported this year, according to the Huffington Post.

Popular names like Aiden and Sophia are out and 2014 parents are stepping away from tradition. Some of the New Year’s names include Anders for a baby boy in Mississippi, baby Nash born in Iowa and Harley in Tennessee.

“Y’s” and “En” sounds are also popular this year, including names like Naythyn, Layla, Devin, Watson and even baby Korbin in Ohio. Parents are also moving away from tradition with unique names and unique spellings, such as Jacktavious, McKenlee and Prantison.

According to the Huffington Post, only one name repeats on the full list of the first reported baby names of 2014.
