10 Sent to Hospital After School Bus Tips

MANSFIELD, Ohio — A school bus that was transporting people with developmental disabilities to a workshop tipped onto its side sending eight passengers, the bus driver and an aide to the hospital.

No serious injuries were reported.

The accident happened Monday around 9:25 a.m. at Springbook Drive and Cook Road in Mansfield.

The bus was headed to Richland Newhope Industries which provides support to children and adults with developmental disabilities.

It was unclear what ages the passengers were.

According to a spokesperson for Richland Newhope, the bus was running on a one-hour delay due to icy conditions.

It was traveling on an incline that had a curve when the accident happened.

Two people were in wheelchairs at the time, but they were strapped down and the chairs stayed in position.

All 10 people on the bus were taken to Medcentral in Mansfield for observation.
