VERMILION TOWNSHIP, OH — Officials with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say a man suffered a heart attack while driving, which caused him to crash into a tree.

James Rundell, 65, was driving west on Darrow Road west of Risden Road around
4:00 p.m. when he suffered a heart attack, traveled off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

Mr. Rundell was unresponsive on the scene and was taken to Lorain Mercy Hospital where he died as a result of the heart attack.

The 2013 Ford Escape he was driving sustained heavy front end damage, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash is under investigation.

He had a heart attack but its under investigation, what is the fact he had a heart attack and probably thought he was passed out drunk and died due to their negligence.

unresponsive is unresponsive. You then assess for a pulse and work from there. A drunk always has a pulse, as they typically live in the crash they cause (their victims, not so lucky). Medics don’t discriminate.
