Police: Your Trash Could Make You a Target

Once the presents have been opened and the cookies have been eaten, people usually don’t give much thought to what’s left — all the trash.

But according to WCCO, police in Minneapolis warned you may want to take certain measures before you throw away or recycle the packaging, especially from big ticket items.

Tossing out the large cardboard box from your new television will tell thieves there is an expensive gift waiting inside.

Police advised cutting up those large boxes before you put them on the curb, and you may also want avoid putting all of the trash or recycling out at once.
