Cleveland, OH – It was a full house at St. Augustine in Cleveland. The church feeds thousands every Christmas, and this year is no different.

"There's a need everywhere. Everywhere you go, there's a need. It just goes to show you God is everywhere,” said James Cummings.

He used to be homeless a couple of years ago, and comes back once in a while to say hello.

Getting ready for the big day is no easy task. Sister Corita Ambro, Director of the Hunger Center, said they have to plan way ahead. Luckily, they have plenty of volunteers to help with that.

"They get so much from it, they get filled by it. They'll all go home happier today than when they came,” said Sister Corita.

For some, it’s their only meal of the day. So, she said they try to make it extra special. They decorate the tables and volunteers pass out the food instead.

The church didn’t just serve meals on site. Deliveries are were also made to families and senior citizens around town.

Sister Corita said the day couldn’t have gone any better. She’s thankful for all the support.

"It's overwhelming. I don't know another word to use except it's overwhelming,” she said. “To see all the generosity of these people, both the clients that are here to eat and the volunteers that are here to eat. They're wonderful and I love each and every one of them.”
