Fire Chief: Bentleyville House Fire Started Above Garage

BENTLEYVILLE, Ohio – A large Bentleyville home caught fire Christmas morning.

Fire officials said the blaze on Pinecrest Drive started in the room above the garage that was being used for storage.

The people who live in the home said they thought they heard crackling, and when they went to investigate they found the fire. They then left the house and called 911, according to the fire chief.

No one was hurt.

The home sustained damage to the garage and roof.

Several other fire departments were called in as mutual aid to help put out the blaze.

The estimated loss is at least $200,000.

Fire officials said it’s still unclear what caused the fire.
