NEW FRANKLIN, Ohio – The New Franklin Fire Department worked to extinguish a house fire Christmas morning.

Firefighters received the first call about the fire on Renninger Road at 10:07 a.m.

When fire crews arrived they found a fire involving an attached two car garage, that had extended into the attic space above.

Everyone who lived in the home made it out safely.

The fire was contained to the garage, although the home did sustain some light smoke damage.

Village of Clinton firefighters assisted in putting the fire out.

Fire investigators determined that the fire was caused by hot materials discarded in the trash next to the home.

Damage to the home is estimated to be $10,000.
