GLENVILLE, Ohio – The Glenville High School football team was honored by the city Thursday.

The team went to the Division 2 state title game but fell short of bringing home the championship.

City officials took time to congratulate the Tarblooders and giving them credit for going as far as they did.

Why were they honored by the city? What did they accomplish? As a matter of fact, they were in a division they do not belong in, they were placed there because the state now uses “low income households” as part of their formula to determine what division to pace school in. It used to be based solely on the number of students in the school.

The bottom line is that the standards were LOWERED for them and were still beat by a much better team. So why honor a bunch of LOSERS??? Just to give them a phony sense of self esteem? What a crock…. More “feel good” bs!
