NORTHFIELD, Ohio-- The Hard Rock Rocksino is officially open for play!
Doors opened at 5:15 p.m., Wednesday, 15 minutes earlier than expected because of the cold temperatures.
Instead of the traditional ribbon cutting, guitars were smashed.
Cleveland's own singer and songwriter Michael Stanley and former Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar were both part of the opening ceremonies.
Joan Jett & the Blackhearts performed in front of a sold-out crowd, Wednesday night.
The 200,000 sq-ft rocksino features over 2,200 video lottery terminals, several restaurants and a Hard Rock LIVE concert-style music venue with 1,900 seats; a comedy club is set to open in February.
Phase two of the project is expected sometime next fall, where a parking garage and hotel are in the works.
The Hard Rock Rocksino will be open 24-7.
