Does it bother anyone else that the induction ceremony is taking place in New York, and not in Cleveland? Let me guess, because New York’s venues are more capable of accommodating the inductees and guests. Well then ask yourself why the Hall of Fame is even here in Cleveland if we cannot reap the benefits of the Hall and everything that comes along with it?! Cleveland is missing the boat on this one big time. That’s why we will never see a Super Bowl either. Our city is not able to accommodate large crowds. Where would everyone stay if the Super Bowl were here? All outlying cities.

WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY INDUCTING BAND MANAGERS FOR? I THOUGHT THE ROCK HALL CELEBRATED MUSICIANS AS ARTISTS…
THAT WOULD BE LIKE HANGING A PICTURE OF DA VINCI’S PUBLICIST NEXT TO ONE OF HIS MASTERPIECES!…I THINK THE “HALL” IS WAY TOO COMMERCIALIZED…

I like your comment! It is dead on. I believe Van Gogh sold only one painting in his lifetime, and that was to his brother. Try and buy one now. Maybe he didn’t have the right PR guy to help him out.

I agree somewhat with the previous comments. The Rock Hall is here, the induction ceremony should be here. Are we still considered as the “mistake on the lake” by those outside of our community? Or maybe they think we aren’t “hip” enough as NYC? Give me a break, we purposely moved back to NEO after being out of the area for more than 20 years, because WE LOVE IT HERE!

Also, about non-musicians being inducted of which I have mixed feelings. Sometimes they are the ones that have the business sense to help bring the talent to the fore-front, especially the producers in the recording studios. Unfortunately, it can become marketing and “how much can I make out of this?” True talent, though, always rises to the top.

About Cat Stevens – I believe he currently lives in England and a few years ago he was denied access back into the U.S. for a tour because he was on the “watch list”. He was considered to be a “fund raiser” for terrorist groups. I hope that gets worked out.

Let us all get on the PEACE TRAIN!

shame on the rock hall for inducting the anti American muslim
    cat stevens.

I wonder if NYC will welcome stevens with open arms. Actually
doubt he could come back from afganistan. stevens was on the
no fly list. BUT obama could give an executive order to let him
back in the US for the ceremony. Then stevens could give a
    recruitment speech for the taliban.
