INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – A high school basketball player, who survived two plane crashes, signed a letter of intent to play basketball at the University of Michigan, according to rtv6.
The first plane crash happened in 2003, and claimed the life of his mother and two siblings. The second happened in 2011, and killed his father and stepmother.
Austin Hatch suffered a serious brain injury in the second crash.
He said signing with the University of Michigan had always been a goal for him because that was his father’s alma mater.
Hatch has received a four-year scholarship to play at Michigan.
