The old adage of a student needing "quiet" to study may not apply anymore. Some recent research suggests music can have a positive effect on students when they are studying certain subjects.

Carolyn Landis, a clinical psychologist with UH's Rainbow, Babies & Children's Hospital explained to Fox 8's Wayne Dawson why certain styles of music can actually enhance the studying.
