Innerbelt Bridge Closure Could Cause Major Delays

CLEVELAND– In order to get drivers on the new Innerbelt Bridge before the Thanksgiving holiday rush, ODOT says all traffic on the new Innerbelt Bridge, inbound I-90 east will be closed between I-490 and I-77 beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday.  

Crews are trying to get last-minute work finished.

I-90 east will remain closed through the Friday morning rush and is expected to reopen onto the new bridge by 6 a.m. Monday.

Major delays along inbound I-90 east, I-71 north, I-77 north and SR 176 north are expected. Drivers will be detoured via I-490 east to I-77 north.

Regional Interstate Impacts:

  • Beginning Thursday, I-90 east between I-490 and I-77 will be closed from 9 a.m. Thursday, November 21 to 6 a.m. Monday, November 25. Motorists can use I-490 east to I-77 north to reach Downtown exits and I-90 east.
  • Overnight Thursday, I-90 west between I-77 and I-490 will be closed from 7 p.m. Thursday, November 21 to 6 a.m. Friday, November 22. Motorists can use I-77 south to I-490 west.
  • This weekend, I-90 west between I-77 and I-490 will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday, November 22 to 6 a.m. Monday, November 25. Motorists can use I-77 south to I-490 west.

    Why did they open it if they are just going to close it?? Should have taken 2 more days or whatever they needed to “finish up” and then opened it for good. Now you are just pissing people off.

      You need to connect the new bridge to the existing highway, which has concrete barrier walls to cut through and to pave a way to get to the new bridge. Please try to think.
