Plans Unveiled for Convention Center Hotel

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland skyline will soon showcase a brand new building.

Plans have been unveiled for the first designs of the new Cleveland Convention Center hotel.

The iconic Hilton hotel will be 27-stories tall and will feature 650 rooms, meeting spaces, a restaurant, bar, an indoor pool and a fitness center. It will also have underground access to the new convention center and the Global Center for Health and Innovation.

The main architect hopes to finish the agreement by the end of 2013 then county officials will vote on the final plans in January.

The project is estimated to cost $260 million. The hotel could open by June of 2016.
