MADISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Coast Guard officials say reports of a vehicle in Lake Erie at Madison Township Park were not founded.

The search was called off at about noon.

Shortly after 10:40 a.m., Coast Guard officials said there was a vehicle in the water at the park. At 11:15 a.m., the Coast Guard said there was no confirmation of a vehicle in the water.

Someone walking their dog made the initial report of seeing the vehicle in the water, according to the Coast Guard.

After a search by the Coast Guard and several other departments, the report was deemed a false alarm.
