Olympic Swimmer Injured in Fan Encounter

Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte will be taking some time away time away from the pool after an encounter with a fan.

According to USA Today, the three-time Olympian tore his MCL and sprained his ACL in his left knee when an excited fan tackled him in Florida.

Lochte caught the teen girl, but fell over and hit his knee on the curb. The girl was unharmed.

“His medical team expects him to make a full and speedy recovery and Ryan thanks everyone for their well wishes,” according to a statement released by his publicist.

Lochte won two gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze medal in the London Olympics. He has recently been training in Charlotte, North Carolina.
