Very sad, tragic even. But there is no crosswalk there. It is very difficult to see people in the street. The speed limit is 35. Jaywalking is an enormous problem mostly ignored by the city in this area and throughout the city. This was an accident just waiting to happen.

How tragic and JD, ur right – most don’t use crosswalks. This type of accident – I’m surprised, doesn’t happen more often. I don’t think the city is ignoring this issue – law enforcement can’t always be in particular places at that certain time. And with the crime throughout large cities, I’m sure the officers are spread thin.

Please keep both families in your prayers. I understand everyone’s concern about Jaywalking but this woman had her lights out at 7pm and going as fast as 80mph on a busy street explain that. This could have been anyone of us out with our children. Thank God she turned herself in.
