SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio -- A bus driver is accused of making sexual advances toward his developmentally disabled passengers.

Reinaldo Velazquez-Ortiz, 48, of Stow, was charged with abduction, soliciting and compelling prostitution.

According to the Summit County Sheriff's Office, on Sept. 27 a parent reported her 22-year-old daughter had been exploited by the bus driver on the way to her day program.

Velaquez allegedly pulled into a secluded area and asked the young lady to remove her clothes.

It was unclear if she complied.

The incident was reported to the Summit County Sheriff's Detective who was assigned to the Summit Developmental Disabilities Board.

After an investigation was launched, it was determined Velaquez was allegedly involved in a similar incident back in June.

In that case, he's accused of offering a developmentally disabled 23-year-old female $12 for sexual acts.

The female declined, but Velaquez told her to keep the money in exchange for not reporting the incident, according to the sheriff's office.

Velaquez was taken to the Summit County jail.  Additional charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.

FYI:::::::::DOES NOT WORK FOR SUMMIT COUNTY DD….THIS IS AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR/DRIVER. THAT HAS A PARENT COMPANY THAT HAS NOT BEEN NAMED. I really wish that FOX 8 make that very clear. This is NOT a Board employee….

What is clear to me is that should be the least of your concern. What about the fact that these girls were exploited. How about the fact that he was hired after the last incident because he was apparently not researched better, or that there should have been cameras or aides on the bus to better protect.

What they dont realize is how it will destroy a familly and someone elses lives when these allogations are proven false! such a shame.
