CLEVELAND — A priest will spend time in prison after he stole money from his own church.

Andre Matthews, 54, was sentenced Wednesday to two years at the Lorain Correctional Institution and must repay the money he stole.

Prosecutors said Matthews swiped $176,000 over a 6-year period.

Investigators said some of the money stolen was raised during Bingo nights at his church, St. Helena Church in Cleveland.

Matthews pleaded guilty to the theft and money laundering charges.
