CLEVELAND – Four people were arrested Wednesday for their alleged roles in an arson fraud scheme that involved a murder-for-hire plot.

David B. Simons of Cuyahoga Falls, Ronald Robey of Cleveland, Gary Tritto and Matthew Kaye of Richmond Heights were allegedly involved in the scheme between November 2011 and August 2012.

They face dozens of charges including aggravated arson, burglary, and vandalism.

Authorities said they were arrested on various charges related to the alleged scheme.

The arresting officers were special agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Columbus Field Division and Lakewood Police.

‚ÄúThis investigation is a cooperative effort that required a lot of long hours and excellent coordination among investigators, prosecutors and agencies throughout the region, and epitomizes the fine work law enforcement does every day,” said Acting Special Agent in Charge Christopher J. Hyman.

Investigators are looking to charge a fifth person in the case.
