WASHINGTON-- A mother in Washington is getting a lot of attention for a message she posted to a pumpkin thief.

WJLA reports the mom set pumpkins outside for each family member, but someone stole her toddler's pumpkin.

She was so upset, she wrote a message to the thief:

"Thank you for the life lesson. This will help teach him that sometimes people are mean for no reason, and you have to just brush it off. Because my son is two years old and cannot read the sign, I will add, you are an ***hole."

The sign is getting attention from people around the world who've seen the story online.
