My Town: Women of Color Foundation to Host Awards Luncheon

CLEVELAND — The Women of Color Foundation is hosting its annual awards luncheon to celebrate local women.

The 8th annual Women of Color Foundation Leadership Development & Training Institute and Awards Luncheon will be held Thursday, November 7, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event will be held at the Cleveland State University Student Center in the third floor ballroom.

Three women of color will be honored at this year’s event: Marsha Mockabee, President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Cleveland, Dr. Ellen Burts-Cooper, Senior Managing Partner of the Improve Consulting and Training Group and Charmaine Brown, Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Forest City.

The leadership training and development workshops will be held before and immediately following the awards luncheon.

Admission to the event is $75 per person, however scholarships are available for college students and women unable to attend for financial reasons.
