Wal-Mart Worker Fired After Helping Woman

MICHIGAN--A man who works for Wal-Mart in Hartland, Michigan said he was fired after intervening when he saw a woman being assaulted, according to WXYZ-TV.

Kristopher Oswald, 30, told WXYZ that he was eating lunch in his car this week when he heard a woman screaming in the parking lot.

Oswald said when he went over to help the woman, several men jumped him.

Oswald told WXYZ that he was fired and the reason given on his termination papers was, "After a violation of company policy on his lunch break, it was determined to end his temporary assignment."

WXYZ reached out to Wal-Mart for comment but they have not heard back.
