ELYRIA, OH — A Lorain County man has been charged with complicity to rape on Wednesday as authorities continue their investigation into alleged sexual abuse at a local daycare.

James Osborne was being held in the Lorain County Jail on charges of probation violation, tampering with records and failure to notify change of address. He’s now facing two charges of complicity to rape, according to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.

Friday, Heather Koon, 25, of Elyria, was arrested by Lorain County Sheriff’s Office deputies at Osborne’s home in Oberlin. She’s facing two counts of rape and was assigned a $1 million bond on each count for a total of $2 million.

Koon was a full-time employee of ABC Kidz Childcare in Elyria from August 2012 to March, according to Carlos Johnson, the day care’s attorney.

According to Johnson, authorities inadvertently learned of the alleged rapes when they went to check on a registered sex offender and found an unregistered laptop.

Johnson said the laptop contained videos of the alleged rapes.
