CLEVELAND – Part of the RTA Red Line will resume normal operations Thursday after a brief service interruption.

The route from Hopkins Airport to the Cedar-University Rapid Station will return to normal but shuttle buses will be used from Cedar-University to the Louis Stokes Station at Windermere.

The problem arose Wednesday around 2:45 p.m. when a CEI power line fell and hit a wire over the Red Line tracks near the Louis Stokes Station at Windermere in East Cleveland.

The current carried into the rail station’s electrical room, which forced the RTA to shut down Red Line service between the Louis Stokes Station at Windermere and Tower City in downtown Cleveland.

No one was hurt.
