Tribe Fans ‘Rocking Red’ Ahead of Tonight’s Big Game
CLEVELAND–Indians fans are seeing red Wednesday, in a good way, of course.
People all over the city are rocking their red to support this playoff team.
The city of Cleveland is wild right now for the playoffs.
Everywhere, people are rocking the red to support the Tribe.
At the office of Melamed Riley, on Euclid Avenue, an office memo was actually sent out for all employees to wear Tribe gear.
“We sent out an email yesterday asking everyone to wear red. But I’m pretty sure everyone would have worn their Indians garb anyway,” said Rick Riley, owner.
“This is the good luck charm. I wore this in ’95,” said Sarah Melamed, owner.
The Tribe face Tampa Bay at 8:07 p.m. and the stadium will be a sea of Wahoo red, white and blue.
“I got a tight stomach. But very excited. Excited for the city and to see our guys play,” said Mark Shapiro, Cleveland Indians President.
Outside the stadium, on East 4th Street, it’s a sea of red.
“It feels like it used to. Like back in 2007 when we beat the Yankees,” Jonathan Horton, fan
It’s all heart for these Tribe fans.
“I wish we didn’t have to work today. With the game not being until 8 o’clock, it’s hard to get anything done,” said Riley.
“People are happy. That’s what I’m noticing. Between the Browns and the Indians, there’s a great vibe going on,” added Melamed.
“Moments like this remind you of the power of sports and how it can impact a city. To have everyone so excited about the Browns and to have them behind us, it means a lot,” added Shapiro.
