Police: Suspects Shoot Dog During Home Invasion

CANTON, OH — Stark County officials say “two or three” home invasion suspects shot and injured a homeowner’s dog after a home invasion.

According to the Stark County Sheriff, the unknown suspects entered a home in the 1400 block of 30th Street NE in the early morning hours Wednesday.

Authorities say the suspects forced their way in and pointed a firearm at the homeowner. The homeowner’s dog attacked the suspects, causing them to flee.

While fleeing, authorities say the suspects shot the dog and injured it.

No other injuries were reported. The dog was treated and is expected to survive.

The incident is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.

    Here’s to the best kind of breed of dog..about time they show that pits ain’t a bad breed they are the most loyal dogs and they deserve to have a better profile than being just aggressive and mean

      I’m right there with you on Pits not being a bad breed…..But they never mentioned the breed of the dog in this article. Jumping the gun a bit?

        I live in canton and it was in out paper the dog was wounded in the leg and eye also and that wasn’t in this story
