CLEVELAND — “And it’s root, root, root for the Indians.”

Fans lined up outside Progressive Field Sunday night to welcome the team home after Sunday’s big win.

The Tribe is at Wild Card status after Sunday’s game, and the fans are pumped. Many tell FOX 8 they will be downtown on Wednesday when Cleveland faces the competition at home.

“I think we’ve got the good momentum,” said Mark Wayner, a Tribe fan.

Cleveland shut down the Minnesota Twins 5-1 on Sunday, allowing fans to breathe a sigh of relief.

Many fans said this is the time to be a Cleveland fan.

“Am I in heaven?” asked fan, Brandon Lepp.

“They are playing very consistent, and I think they have a good coach and good players. I think they will go farther than everybody expects them to go,” said Kevin Madison.

After every crack of the bat and run batted in this season, fans are in agreement that the Indians deserve the recognition.

“The key for Cleveland the whole year has been the hitting, keep the bats hot, keep the bats on fire, the Indians will be able to win some games,” said Zack Markley, who is excited for the team.

But with the excitement also comes the anxiety; Clevelanders just want their team to keep up the positive pace. Fans are hoping their team succeeds and takes the winning spirit all the way to the World Series.

“This is the best weekend for Cleveland, I am ecstatic,” said Jennifer Kovats.
