(Jimmy Haslam speaks on his company's response to a federal investigation.)

KNOXVILLE – Cleveland Browns owner and Pilot Flying J CEO Jimmy Haslam told the media Monday morning that he is humbled and embarrassed by the federal investigation but says the company has made changes to serve customers better.

Haslam addressed the media at Pilot Flying J’s headquarters in Knoxville, but would not answer any questions.  He says he can’t since the investigation is ongoing but promised to do so in the future.

He stressed the company is continuing to grow and is adding 25 additional locations.  He added that the company will not be satisfied until “we have identified every single discrepancy, made every affected customer whole, and regained the confidence of all our customers.

The federal investigation into allegations of a fuel rebate scheme is continuing.  On April 15, federal agents raided Pilot Flying J’s headquarters.

So far, seven Pilot Flying J employees have plead guilty to federal charges.

Haslam says they have begun restructuring the sales team.
