It’s something you don’t see often — a  fireball streaking across the night sky.

But residents all over the Midwest said that’s exactly what they saw around 11:30 p.m. Friday night.

The American Meteor Society is calling it a “fireball” and has received hundreds of reports of sightings from people living in states like Ohio, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.

The Fox 8 newsroom received numerous calls and emails from residents reporting having seen a bright green light Friday night. They were from communities including Kent, Ravenna, Norton and Medina.

Several also took to social media to report the bright light.
