‘Rally Chicken’ T-Shirt Made As Tribe Keeps Edge in Wildcard Race
CLEVELAND, Ohio — The 2002 Anaheim Angels had the Rally Monkey, and the 2011 St. Louis Cardinals had the Rally Squirrel.
Both teams won the World Series.
Now, Indians fans are hoping a Rally Chicken will help the Tribe win a championship.
Back on Sept. 4, Justin Masterson brought a live chicken to batting practice to poke fun at Cody Allen’s nickname: Chicken Al.
At the time, the Indians were three and a half games out of the wildcard race and in a slump.
Since then, they’ve gone 16-5, and they have a one-game lead over Texas for the second wildcard spot.
So GV Art and Design on Detroit Avenue in Lakewood has created Rally Chicken T-shirts to help the Tribe along and in honor of the bird.
The Indians will face the Twins again today at 8:10 p.m.
