CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland neighborhood is being recognized by This Old House magazine. It's listing Ohio City as one of the top neighborhoods because of it's unique homes and character.

"Ohio City has been working a long time to become the fabulous neighborhood that it is," said Sherrill Witt of Trolley Tours.

Witt is the co-owner of Trolley Tours of Cleveland. Since 1985, she's given tours of Ohio City and other neighborhoods in Cleveland. She believers it's about time the neighborhood received some national recognition.

"You have the fabulous Victorian homes that people have been fixing up for well more than 40 years now. You've got the wonderful West Side Market as a basic anchor and now, we've had the growth in the past 3 or 4 years, which is making it a really chic urban neighborhood," Witt said.

Ohio City residents agree.

"I think there is such a rich tapestry and amazing history and that's evident in the arts and culture in the neighborhood and definitely in the architecture," said one resident.

Besides the Victorian homes, Ohio City is also being recognized for it's walkability. People say they enjoy coming to the area because everything is so close together and easy to get to.

"Like, you got the West Side Market right here. If I need to go to the bank, it's right here. Great restaurants, a nice eclectic mix of things to eat, I mean, it's all in a central location and I really love that," said another resident.

Ghasan Maalouf is the owner of Nate's Deli and restaurant, which has been in Ohio City for more than 28 years.

"I think it's dead on. It's very close. It's compact, you can get anywhere you need to on a bicycle or on a walk," said Maalouf. "It's very easy, you don't even need a car around here. Most people don't even have cars around here."
