KENT, OH — Portage County authorities say the death of a man whose body was found in the Cuyahoga River Saturday “appears” to be accidental.

Saturday afternoon, Kent police, the Kent Fire Department and the Portage County Water Rescue Team responded to the scene along the Cuyahoga River.

The body has been identified as Dante Warren, 28, of Kent. He was reported missing September 16.

According to the Portage County Coroner’s office, Warren’s death was the result of a drowning. There is no indication of foul play and “appears” to be accidental.

Residents in the area say the rocks on the shore are slippery and it’s possible Warren lost his footing and fell in the water.
