ELYRIA, Ohio — A woman reporting to the Lorain County jail ended up with more charges once she got there.

Janet Miranda, 32, of Lorain, was supposed to serve seven days for theft beginning last week.

However, she was allegedly drunk when she drove herself to the facility.

According to a report from the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, once she arrived, Miranda’s breath smelled of alcohol, her speech was slurred and her eyes were red and watery.

She admitted she drove drunk because she had no one else to drop her off at the jail.

Miranda’s SUV was parked partially in the grass and took up two spaces.

She was charged with OVI and driving under suspension.
