Wednesday night's Powerball numbers are in!

The winning numbers are 7, 10, 22, 32, 35 and Powerball is 19.

Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is more than $400 million. If you have your Powerball tickets in your hand, Aaron Montgomery, a mathematics professor at Baldwin Wallace University is probably the last person you want to hear from right now.

"The odds of winning the Powerball are about 175 million [to one]," Montgomery said.

Compare that with your odds of getting struck by lightning.

"One of 500,000. Significantly higher than winning the Powerball," Montgomery said.

Still got your hopes up?

"If we were to flip a coin, and I keep flipping a coin 27 times, it is more likely that I will get 27 heads in a row with these coin flips than I will win the jackpot in the Powerball lottery," Montgomery said.

So, is it worth the two dollars?

"It depends. If you enjoy the chance to gamble, then sure. But, as an investment strategy? Absolutely not," Montgomery said.
