CLEVELAND — The Mentor Cards, the fifth-ranked team in the Fox 8 Top 8 got back on the winning track by going to Sparky DiBiasio Stadium in Euclid and thumping the Panthers 36-0. Eddie Daugherty ran for 156 yards on just 12 carries to lead the ground attack. The Cardinals are now 2-1, while Euclid falls to 0-3.

In the Friday Night Touchdown Game of the Week as voted by the fans on Fox8.com, the Wickliffe Blue Devils played the part of unkind hosts by taking a 21-0 lead over the Hurricanes of Brooklyn.  Wickliffe would go on to post the 61-28 victory. The Blue Devils improved to 2-1 on the season, while the Hurricanes slip to 1-2.

State Champs two years ago and runner ups in 2012, the Kirtland Hornets hosted Ashtabula Edgewood at the Hornets Nest on Route 306. The was close, at leas for the first quarter, before the Hornets took command, with Sam Kukura leading a powerful rushing attack.  Kirtland improved to 3-0 with an easy 62-7 victory. The Hornets have now won 38 consecutive regular season games, dating back to 2009.
