Guilty Pleas Made in Elderly Couple Attack

CLEVELAND– A plea agreement was reached on Friday, in the case of a vicious attack against an elderly couple.

Ronald Ellis plead guilty to nine of 15 counts against him, including attempted murder, aggravated burglary and robbery.

Ellis was charged in a violent home invasion near Victory Boulevard and W. 130th Street on June 17.

The elderly couple who lived in the home, Richard and Margaret Kovachik, was duct taped during the ordeal.

Richard, 82, was also beaten. Margaret, 80, was put into the trunk of the couple’s car and driven away.

Ellis faces several years in prison when he’s sentenced on Oct. 23.
